why was i at the beach you ask??? FANTASTIC question. i was actually there for conference reasons :-D the entomological society for my state was hosting a conference! and I went there to present some of the fire ant research i've been helping with!! granted the conference's schedule got messed up so we couldn't actually present our poster BUT it was the fact that we were THERE that mattered

we stayed near the island for about a week afterwards! lots of swamp camping. so many mosquito bites on my ass. but very fun nonetheless! we found a bone at one point but idk where it went???? weird.

despite NOT showering for 5 days straight my skin was shockingly clear?? like i thought i would've broken out in HIVES by day 3 but other than a slight musk it wasn't even that bad. or maybe i was just noseblind after sleeping in a tent with like 4 other guys who also hadn't showered. huh

anyways it was a really really REALLY nice and much-needed break for college holy shit. i really wish i can go again soon!!! i had a blast!! i learned so much!! i felt so seen and comfortable in my skin!!! it was AWESOME man 10/10 trans euphoria experience tbh
