gonna use this as a little vent about my frustration regarding this specific topic;
the continuous growth of left wing subcultures and their introduction into the mainstream could have been an amazing tool to help educate and spread reach on left wing beliefs, but the constant miss-use of labels and terms like "punk", "goth", "emo", has lead to those groups being stripped of the very thing that created them; the politics!!! over the years these labels have been used as a trend and "type of fashion" leading to a majority of outsiders to believe thats all they are, causing people who dont actually fit into the ideology and beliefs of the subculture, to start using and associating with the terms, this has made it so so so much harder for left wing people to actually come together under those historically political labels and leaves us with even less communication and unity, its more than people just miss-using a label, its stripping us of the leading left wing movements of our recent generations, alternative subcultures should be first and foremost about the politics!!! it makes me sososo annoyed seeing these evil selfish corporations use these labels for their own benefit, and further enforce the belief that its "just fashion"; all the while actively going AGAINST the very politics that created those labels.
gonna stop myself there so i dont drag the same point but it makes me so mad that this major major stepping stone for left wing unification is being stripped and robbed of all meaning :(

Goth and Emo were political safe spaces for the left?? since when? What has Gerrad Way done for left-wing idealogy? Just a genuine question :P. IMO the left has been going downhill since the french revolution. Take me back !
okay scratch that because that question sounds dumb af. What I meant to say was, since when has politics been a part of gothic and emo culture?

wrote about this recently too. subculture =/= aesthetic, and it's a bit funny to see how people call each other posers based on who's more committed to the exterior attributes
its crazy seeing how many uneducated people are so..... proud about being wrong?? like what r they doin....
