While I agree keeping up with the political landscape is tiring, I strongly disagree with your last two points being mandatory.
What sort of company are you keeping when youβre constantly afraid of saying the wrong thing or not knowing everything? In my experience, the vast majority of people are pretty rational and down-to-earth. As long as you arenβt like, openly and purposefully racist or something, most people will just politely inform you if youβre ignorant about a particular topic. Not that they donβt have their own biases, of course, but irl is nothing like online communities such as Twitter.
Iβd honestly suggest maybe spending some more time off social media (ironic I know), or reconsidering who you spend your time with. Itβs also okay to take a break from the news and appreciate the here and now of your own life. Take care of yourself! <3
Lol yeah I do agree with you, and my last sentance was mostly about tiktok. It's honestly becoming the second version of Twitter and I really should take a break from it honestly
