litteraly everyone ive ever talked to since like 2021 has said im autistic bc of things i do. i cant tell if its bc i actually act like it or if theyre just using it as another way to say 'silly'... alot of ppl just call others autistic when they do litteraly anything its like they dont even kno what it is

I think media in the last few years , particularly from 2020 and onwards, has just started trivialising stuff like autism and ADHD as some sort of quirky personality trait to have. What has originally started as a way to spread awareness on these matters has also affected some of the youth to romanticise them. In some way I’m glad that people are more aware now on these things but it is quite annoying to see people on the internet throw these terms while not fully understanding them. I personally have mixed feelings on self diagnosing and such especially with the fact that not everyone out there is able to access treatment but it becomes a whole other issue when people make it their entire personality especially if they have not been professionally diagnosed with it. I don’t know maybe I have not much right to say on this matter as I don’t know if I myself am neurodivergent or anything but this is what I’ve taken up from it. I do apologise if I’ve misspoke or anything. Also sorry if I wrote a lot or speak like an NPC this is just how I talk about topics I find interesting
