I was just ghosted by one of my SpaceHey friends. I don’t blame her for ending it because she never really reached out to me & we stopped talking actively two weeks ago (though, I didn’t like being ghosted, I would’ve liked a goodbye text or something), but it made me think about how tenuous online friendships can be. It always seems like there’s this veil covering every friend made online that you don’t know in real life—the feeling that you’re only an online friend. I know that this doesn’t apply to everyone, I try to lose that stigma, but it’s a somber thought. Online friendships don’t have the same trust as real friendships, do they? Maybe I’m just down because I’ve been ghosted. I still believe that I can meet & connect with good people online.
I have before, atleast.
