Futureman

I don’t see a lot of people talking about Futureman so I’m gonna just yap about it!!!1!1!1!!

     You may or may not have seen references to it or heard about but nonetheless it’s a show about a guy who finishes a game called Biotic Wars. What he had yet to understand is that it’s actually a training sim from the future to pick the next savior.

       Initially the future is doomed because of a curated cure that’s meant to end herpes and potentially more than that. But it becomes warfare over reproductive rights in a way. Ironically the lab where the protagonist works (Josh Futturman aka Futureman), is working to make that cure.

      The main cast consists of Josh Futturman, Wolf, and Tiger. Yes Josh’s parents are there too but as of right now I’ve only seen up to season 2 so I’m not sure if they still have relevance past a certain point.

       Honestly I started watching it for the “plot”, and by that I mean I thought I was gonna see nothing but fan service of Josh but I actually got invested. This show is very out of pocket at times but I love it. It’s like a sci-fi comedy and I think has some commentary thrown into it. The story is very compelling to me and I find it very charming. Like I wasn’t sure what to expect but I think it pleasantly surprised me! 

       Like I love that we see these two soldiers from a doomed timeline explore themselves in ways that their society couldn’t give them room to. I think it’s very wholesome that Wolf develops an interest in cooking and that he finds himself having a very meaningful bond with Tiger.

      As for Tiger, I FUCKING LOVE HER!!!!! She’s such a girlboss! She’s so strong!!!! Also I think that she had a crush on Dr.Kronish’s mom! Like she was taken in by his mom in a way and they built a really cute family dynamic that unfortunately did NOT last very long. Also this is a detail I noticed today after thinking alone by myself: so like when Tiger becomes part of the family she’s essentially told to move out because the mom of Dr.Kronish finds a fiancé. She was going to kill Kronish as a baby but she had a change of heart and spared him. She gave him a little knife and I think that same knife was the one he used when snacking before his death! Which is a neat detail I think or I’m making that up! But yeah watch Futureman and perhaps share opinions???
