am i the only one who dislikes the idea of political parties in the us?

i feel like political parties works to only divide the interests in the us. im by no means a complete centrist in terms of my political beliefs, but just on both sides, there is so much corruption and hypocrisy that runs in both the democratic and republican party. i also just don't get voting for a government official based off their political party affiliation overall as well. just for my thinking, i would only vote for someone who's views on policies closely resembles mine, regardless of whether or not they are republican or democratic.

American politics is a shitshoe, no surprise there, and I think this is the root cause. Neither party gives a fuck about anyone but the rich, they'll flip flop back and forth for decades, changing their stances every five minutes to attract whichever idiots they can along the way (Wasn't all that long ago that Republicans were all for abortion rights). I'd also pount aome more blane on the weird ass election system you use... Just seems rigged at times!

a country with only two parties leaves no place for nuance in their politics. thus giving in space for senseless conflict and prejudice, an 'us vs them' rhetoric instead of actual discussion. us politics would benefit from smaller parties based on specific economic and socio-political goals. they would obviously still form coalitions, but it would bring way more diversity of opinion to the parlament.
