Japanese (week 1)

I'm going to document my studies learning Japanese using spacehey both to keep me accountable and consistent and also just for fun! Technically its been 8 days but I want to make these posts every week or two and Monday works best for me as I'm tracking the time I've spent on Japanese using toggl track which shows me my weeks from Monday to Sunday. I'm also off from college on Mondays so I have free time to make these posts.

I'm not a complete beginner as I started learning Japanese a year ago (which is why I have a clear plan and know what resources I'm going to use) but I didn't stick at it for very long and forgot literally everything since its been so long. Basically I've got a good understanding what I need to learn and what order I'm doing it in but not much of an advantage otherwise.

I'm starting by going through RTK (remembering the kanji) and learning the meanings of about 30 kanji a day. I'll probably increase it to 40 a day for the next 2 weeks while I'm off college for half term so I can get through it as fast as possible. I want to learn the meanings of all of the joyo kanji to get a good foundation so it will be easier when I start to learn all the readings. This week I also learned all the hiragana and aim to have the katakana learnt this week so I can start learning vocab and grammar (I will probably use Tae Kims grammar guide for this but I'll let u know once I've actually gotten to that point). I've been using Anki to create online flashcards for everything im learning.

I've spent a total of 15 hours and 43 minutes studying Japanese so far and I've learnt 278 kanji meanings so far.
