Saying that you are proud that you are a race, is acceptable w every race except if you are white. Because it means you are a white supremacist but why does it apply to only white people but not anyone else? We also have culture, and even if its very different depending on country that doesn't excludes us, look at Asian ppl, their culture also very different, like Indian and Japan culture. I also understand that black people were slaves owned by white people, but that generation is not us. Not to mention there were slaves from all races even if not all of us were. We also dont say "Im racist and only white people rock" when we say that we are proud of being white or of our culture. Its just self love. I cant feel white guilt when I never took part in slave owning etc. (though I think its stupid to say that you are proud of your race, no matter what race you are, since its just a skin color and ethnicity)

what is white culture rooted in besides the oppression of everyone else's culture? Black American culture literally stems from black people forming a culture after having it stripped away by white people. race literally does not equal culture as well. I can be Asian and raised in a culture surrounded by people in Kentucky or Russia. If you want to celebrate your burgers and hotdogs then do that but don't have the audacity to be whiny about people associating white culture with oppression because that is just the reality of it. So basically what I'm saying is you and anyone else who thinks this a reasonable opinion sounds fucking stupid.

I have a beautiful culture, with many folklores, w on cultural clothing, own songs and music, traditions and etc, and not w hot dogs but with főzeléks, gulyás soup, potato pasta and our culture was formed by us. I know that race is ≠ w nationality but its not that common. So yeah please learn geography, I know that in America its hard to get an education next to gunshots

Okay so let me sumer up what you said, White people don't have culture because they didn't have to go through their culture being stripped away? How does that make any sense? Europeans all have different and colorful cultures, so why can't they be proud of that? There isn't just one way to be proud. Some people are proud of enduring and surviving something while the other group is proud of what they built up.

im saying white culture aint a thing because whits people havent had their original cultures stripped from them. there is no homogenized white culture bc white ppl have been allowed to keep their individual cultures. black people, on the other hand, especially in the west, had their african roots stripped from them and thus the only culture they have is what theyve built upon here. im not saying you cant celebrate your european heritage, but to claim its white culture is silly bc its not. its bulgarian culture, german culture, hungarian culture, etc etc. its not white culture

By your comment black culture doesn't exists neither, since there are many varieties of it in Africa, Asian people cant be proud of their culture either since how much variates of there are. By your logic no one can be proud of their race, what they can be proud of is "being African American" "proud to be indian".

i'm not gonna bother responding anymore, the nuance is very much lost on you (which is rather expected, as europeans have no idea what black people in the west have faced. you just know slavery happened a while ago. you have no idea of the sheer scale of cultural destruction there was and how racism is baked into pretty much every american policy, amongst a plethora of other things. black pride is a primarily american movement that started in retort to white racists screeching "white pride" and segregation. the main other places with notable black pride movements being brazil and jamaica, which were also areas heavily affected by slave trade and cultural destruction). you'd rather feel attacked over being white rather than give other viewpoints a chance. you can consider yourself a leftist in your mind all you want but it's clear that you more align with conservative ideals and would rather be reactionary. hopefully some day you'll actually learn to listen to others that challenge your narrow world view. have a lovely day.

There is life outside and there are words in this case sentences which have multiple meanings, you never debated why cant europeans say it, while I bet you let european black people to say it or for asian people to say it

I feel like these so called double standards MOSTLY happen online. I don’t know about where you’re from, but in my country if you say that you are proud to be white, nobody is going to give a shit. I don’t understand white pride, or pride of any race for that matter, but if that’s how you feel about it, then that’s fine as long as you aren’t actually racist. White guilt is stupid anyway and this is coming from someone who has black ancestry.
I think being proud of something that you are born with is stupid. I cant be proud of being white because I didn't choose it, I didn't ask for it, it was just a random shit I got when I was born. Thats why I dont understand when someone says "Im proud to be american" "Im proud to be black" "Im proud to be gay"

I feel like when someone says "I'm proud to be black" or "I'm proud to be gay", they don't mean that they're proud of being that, but that they're proud of what they've had to endure BECAUSE they have said label.

Thats just assuming especially when what they say means something else.. If they wanted to they could say it other way, "Im proud of MYSELF for coming over the hardships of being this thing", but they dont.
